Being homeschooled has allowed me the opportunity to help my Papa in every aspect of running the business from planting seedlings to attending markets to helping out at the workshop. But honestly each year I can't wait to do my favorite activity, planting tomatoes! This means I get to hop right into the garden beds and dig holes for the plants with not only my hands but also my feet!
While my Papa teaches me about plants, soil, farming and how to build things, my Mama teaches me about budgeting, cooking, nutrition, household economics and everything else I need to know.
When you see me at markets selling slime and other crafts or helping out my parents, do ask me about my cats, Harry Potter or animals! I’ll always be happy to talk about my passions.
Each summer I can hardly wait for the tomatoes to ripen. I even pick them when they are slightly green (shhh, don’t tell my parents!). Summer in our yard is an endless buffet for me, I can go and get snacks whenever I want!
I can often be found among the tomato plants eating the fruits that have warmed gently by the sun. Or sitting on my step in the garden having an impromptu salad of cucumbers, sorrel and berries while reading a book with my mom.
