A green artichoke bred for reliable performance in organic and low-input systems. This improved Imperial Star type features reduced spines, making harvesting simpler and more comfortable.
Plants grow 2–3' tall with an open, easy-to-manage habit. Expect 1–2 primary buds per plant, averaging 3–4" in diameter, followed by 5–7 smaller secondary buds around 1 1/2–2".
In warmer regions (Zone 7 and above), plants can overwinter and return as perennials, while in cooler climates they perform well as a productive annual crop.
