Distinctive heirloom with a peanut shell-like texture.
This uniquely shaped, flattened-globe variety features salmon-pink skin with a blistered pattern that develops further as it matures on the vine. However, for best results, harvest at maturity to prevent cracking. While often admired as an ornamental, it also brings rich flavor to soups and stews. A long-vined grower, with fruits averaging 15 lbs. Also called the peanut pumpkin.
