Bright, tangy fruit with a bold tropical twist.

Also known as Golden Berry or Cape Gooseberry, this unique fruit produces small golden-orange berries encased in delicate papery husks. The flavor in intensely fruity with a vibrant balance of tart and sweet - richer and more complex than traditional ground cherries. Plants are highly productive and branch freely, producing clusters of lantern-like fruit that store exceptionally well inside their husks after harvest.

Best started early for a full season of production, as this variety takes longer to mature than ground cherries. In cooler climates, protection from early frosts will help maximize yield. The berries are excellent fresh, but truly shine when dried, cooked into jams, or used in compotes and desserts.

Colour: Golden/Orange

Days to Maturity: 90

Open Pollinated
